FAQ

Are there any additives in the supplements?

Our supplements consist of the freeze-dried organ or Bone Broth and around it a capsule of gelatin (beef fat). We also call this a “whole-food” because it is purely that food with no additives. So it doesn’t get more pure and natural! To make it absolutely clear:

  • 100% free of additives
  • No hormone-, antibiotic-, pesticide- and GMO-free
  • Free of allergens
  • Freeze-dried for optimal nutrition
  • Whole food

The products are freeze-dried, what does that mean?

Freeze drying, also known as lyophilization, is used to remove moisture from our products. Because in this we remove 98-99% of the moisture, there is no possibility for potential microbes and parasites to develop. Since microbes (viruses, bacteria, parasites, etc.) cannot survive without moisture, this makes for an ultra pure product.

Do you have to take it with food?

You can take the supplements with or without food.

Why do the products come from New Zealand?

New Zealand’s location and climate provide an ideal environment that allows the cattle to stay outside year-round. Because of the mild climate, the grass grows year-round and the cattle can eat what is most healthy for them. This greatly affects the quality of the organs we use in our supplements.

New Zealand is closely monitored by a world-leading biosafety system. Stringent requirements, procedures for required certifications and audits ensure that we can provide complete security.

There has never been a case of mad cow disease in New Zealand. BSE (mad cow disease); scrapie and other known TSEs, do not occur in New Zealand. There is a national surveillance program for comprehensive monitoring.

Do the products come from 100% grass-fed cattle?

Our products come from cattle that have been outside year-round, so 100% grass-fed or also called grass-finished. That’s pretty unique, most grass-fed cattle are actually never 100% grass-fed. During the winter months, these animals often go into stalls and are offered corn or grain – in addition to dried grass. A bovine is actually not built to eat grain. Their stomachs digest grass much better and because of this they grow slower and this provides more healthier fat in the form of Omega-3. It also certainly benefits the quality of the bovine organs. In New Zealand and in our pastures, many kinds of grasses and herbs grow, which is much better than sown pastures.

How big are the capsules?

The capsule size is 00. This is a normal size for a capsule.

Do the supplements have a particular flavor?

No, the supplements are tasteless. So you have all the health benefits without having to worry about the taste!

Can I take the supplements during fasting?

You can, but because our product is real food it will “break” your fast or in other words your body really has to work to process our product. That said, your body will quickly return to the state of full fasting. Still, we recommend taking the supplements during feeding hours.

How much is 1 dose (6 capsules per day) compared to the unprocessed product?

Six capsules provide the nutritional equivalent of about 30 grams of fresh organ meat.

Six capsules of our liver, for example, would correspond to the nutrients found in 30 grams of liver. Six capsules of our Beef Organs supplement will provide the nutrients of about 30 grams of total organs, which consists of equal parts liver, kidney and heart.

What is the average shelf life?

Because our product is freeze-dried, we can guarantee shelf life of between 2 and 20+ years. That seems extremely much and it is! Freeze-drying is a process in which 98-99% of the moisture is removed. As I’m sure you know, bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc. cannot survive without moisture. This leaves you with an extremely pure product with a very long shelf life.

Does bovine liver store toxins?

No, this is a misconception you read more often. Some are under the assumption that the function of the liver in the body is to store toxins for elimination. As a result, in this situation we may think that when we eat the liver we are consuming toxins. However, that is not true. In fact, the liver plays a role in breaking down (and eliminating) toxins from the body, but does not store them.

Hypervitaminosis a: can you ingest too much vitamin A?

The tolerable upper limit for vitamin A is 3,000 mcg (10,000 IU) per day for adults over 18 years of age. The chances of getting above this are not high, in fact 43% of adults are deficient in vitamin A. Our tests show that we are approximately between 4000 and slightly above 5000 IU for 6 capsules of our Beef Liver product and at Beef Organ between 1300 and 1700 IU. Hypervitaminosis A is real, too much vitamin A can indeed cause toxicity. However, reports of people in such a case, generally come from months of taking synthetic vitamin A supplements in extreme amounts. For most people, too little vitamin A is a much bigger problem than too much. In any case, you can take our products with confidence.

What is the best way to store the supplements?

We recommend storing our products in a cool, dry place, such as a basement or pantry.
